Autumn ???

Last week we saw the arrival of some colder weather. As the wind blew the temptation grew as I restricted the urge to put the central heating on. I watched the trees sway briskly as the leaves started to blanket the ever so green grass that has made a remarkable recovery from the crisp dry conditions we saw back in June, everything was starting to look autumnal. But I seem to have been mistaken. Today has felt like a beautiful summers day with blue skies and warm sunshine, perfect weather for picking the lavender flowers for our next batch of Lavender and Patchouli Soap. Sarah :-)

We have had some lovely press coverage this week in Kindred Spirit Magazine. Our wonderful scented Carrot and Orange Soap is featured on Page 68 on Naturally Good for You Products. We also get a mention on our Organic Shea Butter and Rose Hip Oil.

NO to palm oil

I was reading an article recently from Green Peace about the palm oil plantations in Borneo. It's heart breaking to still see the destruction of the rain forest from those greedy money making tycoons. It got me thinking about why soap makers still use palm oil in their soaps. Although sustainable palm oil is more widely used why promote the use of palm oil in any way when soap can be made by using other oils? Well, one simple reason palm oil is the cheapest oil to use! Us at Natural Bubbles use more expensive oils so we can avoid the use of palm oil and work for less profit but for us some things are far more important than high profit margins! I feel that any use of palm oil from any source is telling large companies that there is a need for palm oil, the only solution is to stop using palm oil products. Sarah
